I have a diverse background ranging from my undergraduate years at the University of Chicago and Bryn Mawr to earning an MFA in Film Production from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, but I have been immersed in my work as a psychotherapist for two decades. After starting down this path, I quickly felt that I had found my calling. This work has allowed me to channel a unique combination of curiosity, compassion, and creativity.
After completing my MSW at Fordham University, I attended the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy for advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and pursued additional training in evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). I also taught Child Psychopathology in a master’s program as an Adjunct Professor, worked in a group home with LGBTQIA+ youth, and practiced in a community clinic in Brooklyn.
I believe it is important to have a range of tools and approaches, since each patient is unique and treatment should be adapted accordingly. If you are addressing a painful issue for the first time, we will work collaboratively at a pace that feels safe and manageable. If you are eager to move forward in a particular area, we will identify concrete goals and assess progress toward them.
